What does it mean when your "eyes are bigger than your stomach"?


 

somebody's eyes are bigger than their stomach眼大肚小/貪心---


something that you say when someone has taken more food than they can eat


examples:


1. I'm sorry I can't finish my salad ; my eyes are bigger than my stomach


很抱歉,我不能吃完我的沙拉了, 我太貪心了.


2. Do you realize your eyes are bigger than your stomach?


你没有意識到你是典型的眼大肚小嗎?


(指明明吃不了那麼多,卻點了一大堆)
